Floor to Floor Transportation
Friday, May 13th, 2011A lift or elevator is a kind of tool that is effectively move goods or people from one floor to another floor within a building, vessel or any other structure large enough to house one. The lifts or elevators are usually operated by using motors that drive the counterweight system of the traction cables. Essentially, a lift is a kind of platform that gets pulled or pushed by a mechanical system. These days, a lift consists of a cab that is mounted in an enclosure that is called a shaft.
As a thing with a mechanical system, lifts or elevators are no exception to the possibility of mechanical disturbances. Sometimes the mechanical disturbances happen in the middle of the lifts’ operation such as when the lifts are transporting people from floor to floor. For the people who have never experience a lift getting stuck, it could be a very scary experience. These people are maybe imagining what will happen to them when they cannot be rescued for some reason and stuck there while the lift is falling down. If the building is a tall one, that will be super scary.
Because of that possibility, Lift maintenance is very important. We know that lifts or elevators are things with mechanical system, and as a unit with mechanical systems, the maintenance is a must do in order to avoid the disturbance. The maintenance is needed to be done for a certain period of time and it must become a routine activity. There are many people using the lifts and elevators every day, and they are hoping that they will not end up being stuck in an elevator for several hours.
